Indiana looks to stop its three-game skid when the Indiana Pacers take on Milwaukee. The teams meet Tuesday for the first time this season. Indiana is 7-5 against the Central Division, and Milwaukee is 6-6 against division opponents.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with center Ryan Kelly and cornerback Isaiah Rodgers. The agreements were confirmed to The Associated Press by people with knowledge of the deals on condition of anonymity because they can’t be finalized until the signing period begins Wednesday. Kelly is a four-time Pro Bowl pick who spent his first nine seasons in the league with the Indianapolis Colts. Rodgers brings upside from the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles after a backup role in a deep position group. The Vikings also announced they’ve agreed to re-sign cornerback Byron Murphy.

Quarterback Sam Darnold has agreed on a three-year, $100.5 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on Monday. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because teams can’t sign free agents until Wednesday. Darnold had his best season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024, leading them to 14 wins. He replaces Geno Smith, who was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders last week.

A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that the New York Jets and former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields have agreed to a two-year contract worth $40 million. Fields would step in as New York’s starter in place of Aaron Rodgers, who the Jets announced last month they are moving forward without after two seasons. The deal for Fields includes $30 million guaranteed, according to the person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the agreement wasn’t announced by the team. The Jets also agreed to terms with former Baltimore cornerback Brandon Stephens and former Jacksonville safety Andre Cisco.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Max Strus had 17 points to lead a balanced scoring attack as the NBA-leading Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 112-100 for their 14th consecutive victory. The Cavs became just the second team to win 14 straight while scoring at least 110 points in each of those games. The 1985-86 Boston Celtics also accomplished the feat. Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points while moving into 50th place on the NBA’s career scoring list.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves past the San Antonio Spurs 141-124 for their fifth consecutive victory and highest score this season. Naz Reid had 20 points and seven rebounds and Julius Randle added 14 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds as the Timberwolves improved to 37-29. They never trailed on their way to a season-best eight games above the .500 mark. De’Aaron Fox scored 22 points for the Spurs. They fell to 3-7 since star center Victor Wembanyama was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Dylan Harper scored 22 points, including six in overtime, and Rutgers defeated Minnesota 75-67 to claim an important win in seeding for the Big Ten Tournament. The victory lifted Rutgers into 11th place and left Minnesota in a five-way tie for 12th as the regular-season concluded. Tiebreakers gave Minnesota the 12th seed. Rutgers plays USC and Minnesota plays Northwestern in first-round games on Wednesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Scarlet Knights dominated overtime, building a 71-63 lead with one minute to go. Harper led the 10-2 charge with two layups and a couple of free throws. Dawson Garcia finished with 19 points for Minnesota.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin women’s basketball coach Marisa Moseley has stepped down after posting a 47-75 record in four seasons at a program that has been struggling to compete in the Big Ten for over a decade. The Badgers went 13-16 this season and lost 81-54 to Iowa in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. Wisconsin had announced in late January that it was looking into a former player’s allegations that she was mistreated by Moseley and her staff. Wisconsin’s release announcing Moseley’s departure made no reference to those allegations. Wisconsin’s last winning season came in 2010-11.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a two-year, $20 million contract with running back Aaron Jones that prevents the popular veteran from reaching free agency after a solid debut with his former rival. Jones will get $13 million guaranteed, his agent Drew Rosenhaus said. The 30-year-old set career highs with 255 attempts and 1,138 yards for the Vikings in 2024. Jones was the third rusher in franchise history to hit the 1,000-yard mark in his first year with Minnesota. He played his first seven seasons in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Sidney Crosby scored twice, Evgeni Malkin also had a goal and Tristan Jarry made 30 saves and had an assist to help the Pittsburgh Penguins snap a four-game skid with a 3-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Jarry made his first start since being sent to the minors on Jan. 16 as Pittsburgh won for only the second time in regulation in its last 11 games. Ryan Hartman scored for Minnesota, which lost for the fifth time in seven games. In likely his last game against the franchise with which he won three Stanley Cups during 13 seasons, Marc-Andre Fleury made 20 saves.

TORONTO (AP) — Minnesota captain Kendall Coyne Schofield scored at 2:39 of overtime to give the Frost a 2-1 victory over the Toronto Sceptres on Sunday in the PWHL. Before goalie Kristen Campbell could cover up, Coyne Schofield found the puck in a goalmouth scramble and chipped it in. Brooke McQuigge opened the scoring for the Frost (7-5-4-7) in the first period, while defender Renata Fast pulled the Sceptres (9-2-5-7) even late in the second period. Nicole Hensley made 15 saves for Minnesota.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Russell Henley has won the Arnold Palmer Invitational for the biggest victory of his career. And he might not have seen this one coming. Henley was three shots behind Collin Morikawa with five holes to play at Bay Hill when everything changed so suddenly. There was a two-shot swing on the 14th hole when Henley made birdie and Morikawa made bogey. And on the par-5 16th, Henley chipped in from some 50 feet away for eagle to take the lead. He closed with two pars for a 70 and a one-shot victory over the hard-luck Morikawa.

EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed safety Theo Jackson to a three-year contract portending a larger role for next season. Jackson’s agency, Equity Sports, announced that the deal running through 2027 is worth $12.615 million, with the first two years fully guaranteed at signing. Jackson was eligible to become a restricted free agent next week. He developed into a special teams ace and trusted backup over the last three seasons behind starters Harrison Smith and Cam Bynum. Both of those spots are in flux. Smith at age 36 must decide if he will continue playing. Bynum will be a free agent.

Aaron Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion and future first-ballot Hall of Famer. He still may have to wait to until after the draft to find a new team for 2025. The New York Jets already have announced they’re releasing the 41-year-old quarterback after two disappointing seasons. Rodgers hasn’t said he definitely plans to keep playing, though he recently said he’d like to go to a team that wants him. Several teams still need a starter. Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Sam Darnold and Justin Fields will be the top free agents at the position. Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are expected to be the top two quarterbacks selected in the draft.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points to bring his career total over 20,000, Damian Lillard added 34 points and Kevin Porter Jr. had a triple-double as the surging Milwaukee Bucks trounced the short-handed Dallas Mavericks 137-107 The 30-year-old Antetokounmpo has scored 20,010 career points. He’s the 52nd player to reach 20,000. Porter had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists. The Mavericks had only eight available players in their first game since Kyrie Irving tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Monday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels scored 29 points apiece and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Charlotte Hornets 125-110 on Wednesday night. Julius Randle finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for the Timberwolves, who won their third straight. McDaniels grabbed 10 rebounds. LaMelo Ball had 28 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for Charlotte, which has lost eight straight. Miles Bridges added 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The Timberwolves took the lead with 5:40 remaining in the first quarter and did not give it up. The score was 65-58 by halftime, with Edwards racking up 16 points in the half.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — John Blackwell had 25 points and a career-high 11 rebounds to help 12th-ranked Wisconsin beat Minnesota 74-67. John Tonje added 18 points and seven boards as the Badgers improved to 23-7 overall and 13-6 in the Big Ten for a three-way tie for third place. They have a top-four seed and the accompanying double-bye for the conference tournament in sight. Wisconsin is the national free-throw shooting leader and went 21 for 24. Minnesota is the Big Ten’s worst team at the line and was 8 for 15. Brennan Rigsby led the Gophers with 18 points.

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Alex Karaban scored 21 points, including a pivotal 3-pointer with 23.7 seconds left, and UConn defeated No. 20 Marquette 72-66. Liam McNeeley had 11 points and Samson Johnson added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies, who pulled into a tie with Marquette for third place in the conference standings. UConn owns the tiebreaker after sweeping the season series. Solo Ball and Hassan Diarra each scored 10 points as the two-time defending NCAA champions beat Marquette for the fifth straight time. David Joplin had 23 points and Kam Jones scored 21 for the Golden Eagles. The opening tip was delayed by 22 minutes as a result of facility issues, according to a statement from UConn.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Lucy Olsen scored 14 of her 19 points in the first half on 8-for-12 shooting and 11th-seeded Iowa beat No. 14-seed Wisconsin 81-54 in the Big Ten Tournament. Serah Williams scored 22 points for Wisconsin. Wisconsin’s Tess Myers made a jumper with 6:37 left in the first quarter to give the Badgers a 9-6 lead. From there, Iowa all but buttoned it up by launching into a 19-0 run to close the quarter.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Elle Ladine had 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Sayvia Sellers and Dalayah Daniels each added 15, and No. 12 seed Washington beat No. 13 seed Minnesota 79-65 in its first Big Ten Tournament appearance. Washington (19-12), which also beat the Gophers 72-62 on Feb. 26, will look for its sixth straight victory on Thursday against No. 5 seed Michigan. Washington used a 12-0 run to go ahead 52-38 with 2:50 left in the third quarter. Sellers made two 3-pointers during the run, and she found Tayra Eke for Washington’s fifth straight field goal. After Minnesota closed the third quarter on a 7-0 run to get within 54-48, Hannah Stines scored five points during Washington’s 7-0 run to open the fourth for a 13-point lead.

ATLANTA (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo had 26 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his seventh triple-double of the season, and the surging Milwaukee Bucks beat the Atlanta Hawks 127-121. Damian Lillard scored 23 points for the Bucks, who have won three straight and seven of eight. Milwaukee remained in fourth place in the Eastern Conference at 35-25. Trae Young led Atlanta with 28 points and 13 assists. Caris LeVert scored 21 points. Neither team led by more than eight. The game was tied at 121-all when Brook Lopez dunked to give Milwaukee the lead, and the Bucks scored the final six points.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored 18 points, Naz Reid added 23 and the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the short-handed Philadelphia 76ers 126-112 Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 20 points off the bench. The Timberwolves used a 25-9 run at the start of the fourth to take control. Quentin Grimes led the 76ers with 30 points, and Kelly Oubre Jr. added 24 for Philadelphia, which has lost 13 of 15 and was playing the second game of a back-to-back after losing 119-102 at home to Portland a night earlier.

SEATTLE (AP) — Mats Zuccarello’s goal 8:22 into the second period proved to be the difference in the Minnesota Wild’s 4-3 win over the Seattle Kraken. Zuccarello, Frederick Gaudreau and Jared Spurgeon all had a goal and an assist for the Wild, and Filip Gustavsson made 33 saves. Vinnie Hinostroza scored Minnesota’s first goal of the game. Zuccarello scored on a snap shot, putting the Wild up 4-1. Brandon Montour and Shane Wright scored late in the second period to pull the Kraken within 4-3. Adam Larsson also scored for Seattle and Joey Daccord had 16 saves.

LAVAL, Quebec (AP) — Marie-Philip Poulin scored the only goal of the shootout as the Montreal Victoire extended their lead atop the PWHL with a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Frost on Tuesday night. With the win, Montreal’s lead in first place is now nine points over the second-place Toronto Sceptres with 10 games remaining. Ann-Renée Desbiens made a season-high 40 saves for the Victoire, including four in overtime. Laura Stacey opened the scoring for Montreal with her eighth goal of the season 17 seconds into the second period. Taylor Heise tied the game with 3:42 left in the second period on the power play.

A person familiar with the situation says kicker Brandon McManus is staying with the Green Bay Packers after agreeing to a three-year, $15.3 million contract with a $5 million signing bonus. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal hasn’t been announced. ESPN first reported the agreement. The 33-year-old McManus could have become an unrestricted free agent next week if he hadn’t agreed to terms. McManus stabilized the Packers’ kicking situation when he signed in October. He went 20 of 21 on field goals and made all 30 of his extra-point attempts in 11 games.

A person familiar with the negotiations says veteran left-handed pitcher Jose Quintana is joining the Milwaukee Brewers on a one-year, $4.25 million deal with $1 million in potential bonuses. FanSided first reported that Quintana was signing with the Brewers. The 36-year-old Quintana is coming off a 2024 season in which he went 10-10 with a 3.75 ERA in 31 starts for the New York Mets. He struck out 135 and walked 63 in 170 1/3 innings. He started the deciding game of the Mets’ NL Wild Card Series victory over the Brewers.

Linebacker Isaiah McDuffie is staying with the Green Bay Packers. Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst announced Monday that the team had re-signed McDuffie without revealing terms. A person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that McDuffie agreed on a two-year, $8 million deal. McDuffie was due to become an unrestricted free agent if he hadn’t reached a deal with Green Bay. The Packers selected him out of Boston College in the sixth round of the 2021 draft.

The injury-thinned Minnesota Wild could use a boost in their push to return to the playoffs. Their margin for making it has slimmed down following a strong start. The Wild more than likely will have to find that spark from within as the NHL trade deadline approaches. The reacquisition of veteran forward Gustav Nyquist on Saturday will probably be the extent of the enhancement due to salary cap constraints. The Wild must try to fend off their Western Conference competitors down the stretch while leading scorer Kirill Kaprizov and center Joel Eriksson Ek work their way back from lower-body injuries.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Katherine Legge will become the first woman in a NASCAR Cup Series race since Danica Patrick in 2018 when the veteran makes her debut Sunday at Phoenix Raceway. Legge will drive the No. 78 Chevrolet for Liv Fast Motorsports. She becomes the first woman since Patrick made her final Cup Series start in the Daytona 500 eight years ago. Legge is a 44-year-old native of England. She has five career starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. She most recently raced in a NASCAR race at Road America in 2023. She ran the ARCA race last month at Daytona International Speedway.

PHOENIX (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored 44 points, Julius Randle added 20 in his first game since missing more than a month with an injury and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns 116-98 on Sunday night. Edwards scored 17 points in the third quarter as the Timberwolves took control, turning a two-point halftime deficit into a 83-72 lead heading into the fourth

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Jaden Akins scored 19 points and Jaxon Kohler had 10 pounds and a career-high 16 rebounds to lead No. 8 Michigan State to a 71-62 win over No. 11 Wisconsin. The Spartans have won five straight, putting them in position to contend for the Big Ten regular-season championship with a week left. The Badgers had won six of seven. Michigan State freshman Jase Richardson overcame foul trouble in the first half to finish with 11 points, six assists and five rebounds. Wisconsin’s John Blackwell had 19 points and John Tonje scored 11 in a starting lineup that was without injured guard Max Klesmit.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Frederick Gaudreau scored the game’s only goal and Filip Gustavsson stopped 28 shots as the Minnesota Wild beat the Boston Bruins 1-0 on Sunday. Gustavsson posted his fourth shutout of the season, his first since Jan. 4 against Carolina. The Wild snapped a three-game losing streak. Jeremy Swayman made 21 saves as the Bruins lost for the sixth time in seven games.

A person familiar with the situation says former New York Mets general manager Billy Eppler has joined the Milwaukee Brewers as a special adviser for scouting and baseball operations. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Brewers haven’t announced the hire. SNY first reported Eppler was coming to Milwaukee. Eppler was suspended last year after a Major League Baseball investigation concluded he had directed Mets staff to fabricate injuries to create open roster spots. That punishment expired after the 2024 World Series.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Christopher Bell passed Kyle Busch with five laps to go, then held off Daytona 500 winner William Byron to win NASCAR’s first road course race of the season at the Circuit of the Americas. Bell raced to his second consecutive victory after an overtime win in Atlanta a week ago. Once Bell cleared Busch, the Oklahoma driver had to make a desperate bid stay in front of hard-charging Byron and 2023 race winner Tyler Reddick of 23X1 Racing’s Toyota. Busch led 43 of 95 laps but faded to fifth to stretch his winless streak to 60 races.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 28 points, pulled down a season-high 19 rebounds and dished out seven assists as the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Denver Nuggets 121-112 on Thursday. Denver’s Nikola Jokic shot 13 of 16 and had 32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Jokic now has 27 triple-doubles in the 53 games the three-time MVP has played this season. This was the first matchup of the season between these two multiple-MVP winners. The Bucks play at Denver on March 26. Brook Lopez added 22 points as the Bucks earned their fifth win in their last six games.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — LeBron James had 33 points and 17 rebounds and the Los Angeles Lakers won their fourth straight game, holding off the Minnesota Timberwolves 111-102 on Thursday night. Austin Reeves added 23 points and Luka Doncic had 21 points and 13 rebounds to help the Lakers improve to 14-3 since Jan. 21. Terrence Shannon Jr. led Minnesota with a career-high 25 points. The Timberwolves have dropped three of four and five of seven. The Timberwolves were able to rally back despite Anthony Edwards being ejected in the third quarter after picking up his second technical foul. Edwards threw the ball into the stands after being ejected. If both technical fouls are upheld, he will be suspended one game for picking up 16 technicals this season.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Clayton Keller had a career-high five points — scoring his 22nd goal and assisting on four others — and the Utah Hockey Club beat the Minnesota Wild 6-1 on Thursday night for its fourth straight home victory. Nick Schmaltz had a goal and two assists, Barrett Hayton and Logan Cooley each had a goal and an assist, and Dylan Guenther and Sean Durzi also scored. Karel Vejmelka made 15 saves. Frederick Gaudreau scored for Minnesota, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 25 shots.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Lauren Betts had 26 points and 10 rebounds and second-ranked UCLA routed Wisconsin 91-61 to set up a showdown with No. 4 USC for the Big Ten title. UCLA (28-1, 16-1 Big Ten) moved into a first-place tie with USC heading into the regular-season finale Saturday at home against the Trojans, who handed the Bruins their only defeat, 71-60 earlier this month. Betts hit 11 of 12 shots from the field and all four of her free throws for her 15th double-double of the season. Timea Gardner added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Serah Williams had 22 points for Wisconsin (13-15, 4-13).

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Miami Dolphins are the top-ranked team, followed by the Minnesota Vikings, for the second consecutive season in the NFL Players Association report card. The Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers round out the top five in the third annual NLPA report card released Wednesday at the NFL scouting combine. The Green Bay Packers came in at 7th. The Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals were the bottom five. JC Tretter, the NFLPA’s chief strategy officer, said 1,695 players responded to the survey, an average of 52 players per team and 77% of the union’s membership. The report cards were compiled between Aug. 26 and Nov. 20.

IN MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — John Blackwell had 24 points and 10 rebounds as 11th-ranked Wisconsin bounced back from a disappointing defeat with an 88-62 victory over Washington. John Tonje added 13 points for the Badgers, who lost 77-73 to Oregon in overtime at home Saturday after leading by 15 with under eight minutes left. Steven Crowl and Xavier Amos had 12 points apiece for Wisconsin. Great Osobor scored 11 for Washington, which has lost three straight and 11 of 14.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Nick Martinelli scored 19 of his 29 points in the second half to help Northwestern pull away and beat Minnesota 75-63. The Wildcats had its largest lead at 64-47 with 7:05 left and led by double digits nearly the rest of the way. Martinelli, who leads the Big Ten averaging 19.7 points, was the only player in double figures for Northwestern (15-13, 6-11 Big Ten). The Wildcats, who beat Ohio State 70-49, have won consecutive games since ending a three-game losing streak. Dawson Garcia scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Minnesota (14-14, 6-11).

No. 2 UCLA visits the Wisconsin Badgers after Lauren Betts scored 22 points in the Bruins’ 67-65 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes. The teams square off Wednesday for the first time this season. Wisconsin is 4-12 against the Big Ten, and UCLA is 14-1 against conference opponents.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Simon Edvinsson pinged a slap shot off the far post for his second goal of the game with 8:25 remaining to finish a rally by the Detroit Red Wings for a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Cam Talbot made 22 saves for the Red Wings. Detroit is 9-1-2 in its last 12 games and has won a season-best five straight road games. Vladimir Tarasenko scored midway through the second period after Minnesota led 2-0 at the first intermission following goals by Marco Rossi and Jakob Lauko. Rossi matched his career high with 21 goals.
