Charlie Parr at the Park Center, March 15
March 15 @ 7:00 PM
$30
Famed troubadour Charlie Parr will return to The Park Center on Saturday, March 15 at 7:00pm. A humble master of the 21st century folk tradition, the Duluth-based musician is fueled by a belief that music is eternal and cannot be claimed or adequately explained. The sounds from Parr’s working-class upbringing—including Folkways legends such as Lead Belly and Woody Guthrie—imbue his music with stylistic echoes of blues and folk icons of decades past.
“I feel like I stand on a lot of big shoulders,” Parr says. “I hope that I’ve brought a little bit of myself to the music.”
In his recent 2024 release, Little Sun, Parr weaves together stories celebrating music, community, and communing with nature. It’s an ambitious and raw album that exemplifies the best of his sound
Advance tickets are $30 and are available at: Out of the Woods Winery, Hayward; Redbery Books, Cable; The Whistle Punk, Stone Lake, or online at theparkcenter.com. Tickets are $35 at the door and $5 for students (17 and under). This show is sponsored by Nelson Lumber.
