Cost Estimator
Job Purpose:  Responsible for the preparation and coordination of Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) for materials components, subassemblies and/or services based on quote requirements received from various departments within the organization (i.e. Engineering, Program Management, and Sales). Will Analyze quotations for content in addition to preparing complete costs analysis.  Defines needs, clarifies discrepancies and determines the structure of BOM.  Monitor RFQ through all processes and resolve issues that come up. Complete costing information including generation of costed BOM’s, identifying exceptions and assumptions, and identifying and documenting all unique costs and issues. At the highest level, may also be responsible for watching technology trends and preparing cost reduction and other recommendations based on those trends

Job Purpose:Â
Develops and procures Plastic Injection tooling for new and existing customer part designs.
Manages the development and implementation process of Sanmina’s products and services, involving departmental and cross-functional teams, focused on the delivery of new or existing products.
Plans and directs resource schedules and budgets.
Manages several projects simultaneously, from initiation, to delivery, and through the end of a product’s lifecycle.
Organizes all interdepartmental activities, ensuring completion of projects on schedule and within budget constraints.
Nature of Duties:
Work closely with customers on part design for manufacturability for Plastic Injection Molding, assuring that Sanmina can process an acceptable product once tool is built. Must understand customer’s specifications and expectations.
Quote new Plastic Injection tooling, coordinate tooling vendor selection and manage selected tool vendor through entire tool build process. Place tooling PO’s accordingly. Develop project plan and provide customer with delivery schedules/timelines, Gantt charts, and other desired information. Maintain on-time delivery of tooling.
Lead internal team and drive timely completion of projects, within quoted budget, by maintaining internal checklists and timelines. Schedule project review meetings to discuss project needs and expectations.Â
Must coordinate tool design reviews, material selection and procurement, secondary tooling design, tool sampling, FAIR’s, PPAP’s and part approvals.
Provide Document Control with all pertinent new product information for initial set-up of parts in system.
Responsible for creating NPI’s, initiating ECO’s, and assuring that the process is running to quote.
Quote and manage tooling revisions and tool repairs.
Responsible for the timeline of projects and must assure that all other departments and vendors are on schedule.Â
Engineering liaison between our plant and the customer throughout entire life cycle of a product.
Limited travel as necessary to support customer. International travel is possible. Other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
B.S. degree in Engineering field with 2-5 years of Tooling/Project Engineering experience or 5+ years experience as a Tooling Engineer; preferably Plastic Injection Molding experience.

PURPOSE:
The Senior Process Engineers (Plastics) primary focus will be new business and capacity expansion projects. In this position, you will research, model, and develop plastic process technologies, tool designs and processes for new and transfer Thermoset and Thermoplastic injection and compression molding applications projects. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Process Engineering Technicians in the execution of design reviews, process development and manufacturing introduction.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibility for the technology, process development and troubleshooting of thermoset and thermoplastic injection and compression molding processes
Coordinate design for manufacturability (DFM) methodologies into our design reviewsÂ
Investigate and recommend new technologies while staying current on manufacturing methods and tool designs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage multiple process development projects with minimal supervision
Manage start-up, debug, and commission of new and transfer molding processes
Plan and conduct experimental trials utilizing designed experiments to produce capable and stable molding processes
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
Communicate and solve problems
Generate and update technical documents, reports, specifications and BOMs
Lead process development risk analysis (FMEA)
Coordinate and support pre-production build activities
Monitor NPI implemented processes for efficacy utilizing KPI’s
Provide technical support to all facets of our facility
Recognize, document and define qualification requirements for improvements
Develop a flexible process engineering team that supports our critical deadlines
Train and provide direction to process engineering technicians and train manufacturing technicians as part of a qualification
Lead daily NPI sample activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems, related processes and tooling is highly desired
Knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and automation
Sound understanding of injection molding machinery, auxiliary equipment and tooling
Ability to create, foster, and work in a team-oriented environment
Skilled at Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving
Self-starter motivated to implement positive change to our NPI and manufacturing processes
Ability to provide input and alternatives during part design reviews that improve manufacturability

EXPERIENCE:
Prefer five to seven years of experience with hands-on injection and compression molding of thermoset and thermoplastic materials

Six Sigma Certification preferred, working knowledge of the DMAIC process is a plus
EDUCATION:

Quality Technician
Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to conduct quality assurance testing and document the results per customer requirements.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
1. Set up test equipment according to the documented procedure. Test equipment will contain instruments and test fixtures at a minimum. Will set up and manage instrument test parameters.
2. Test parts according to the documented instructions. Testing conducted will include break tests, tensile tests and so forth. Export data from the test equipment into a database and maintain all testing records.
3. Perform any required dimensional, functional, performance and visual inspections during completion of Production Part Approval Process.
4. Know, understand, and follow pertinent company/plant procedures, rules, and policies. Attend trainings, as required.
Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Keep work area/equipment clean and orderly.
2. Communicate effectively with personnel from all departments, vendors, and customers as necessary.
3. Maintain organized records, logs, and samples.
Education and Experience
1. HS Diploma or Equivalent; 2 year Technical Degree in Quality or related field desired
2. Experienced with the use of force gages, test fixtures and inspection equipment (such as: calipers, micrometers, etc.).
3. Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models.

Job Purpose:
Performs skilled tasks using a variety of tools to  modify, maintain, and repair injection molding  tools, dies, jigs and fixtures. Works with engineers and tool designers to develop and modify tools. Works from blueprints, databases, specifications, and diagrams. Checks work with precision instruments.
Nature of Duties:
· Must be able to make intelligent decisions for any mold repair problems that arise when supervisory people are not available.
· Must have the ability to work with extreme accuracy on any type of tool work.
· Set-up and operate all machine tools and equipment, use various hand tools and precision measuring instruments common to the trade.
· Heat treat small tool and die parts, make special cutters and mills, dress grinding wheels as needed.
· Weld with TIG equipment, repair and replace parts in hydraulic equipment.
· Install/maintain electrical items (heaters and sensors) on plastic injection mold tooling
· Make ejector pins, core pins, make gate changes, K.O. bars, clean and polish mold cavities.
· Basic computer skills needed.
· Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Prefer 2 year degree in Machine Tool with 2-4 years of tooling experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in Tool & Die building or repairs a plus.
