12-hour Rotating Schedule – Resin Material Handler

Job Purpose:

The Resin Handler is responsible for mixing and supplying material to all molding machines. Information on handling material is from various written and verbal instructions.

Nature of Duties:

Locate material and equipment needed for each job.
Remove material and equipment from completed jobs.
Issue and return material as instructed.
Supply material to all jobs as assigned.
Unload incoming material and store in proper place in warehouse.
Obtain cycle counts.
Practice safe working habits.
Periodically check for unsafe conditions and correct as needed.
Additional duties as assigned.
Basic computer skills needed.

Education and Experience:

Must have basic computer skills
Previous forklift experience
Previous material handling experience
High School Diploma or equivalent

SCOWIS hears oral arguments on 1849 abortion law

MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Will a 1849 ban on infanticide remain as a ban on abortion in Wisconsin?

That was the matter up for oral arguments at the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Monday. Liberal Justice Jill Karofsky says the old law and a newer 2015 law allowing for abortions can’t exist in the same space.

“I am talking about the fact that these two statutes are irreconcilable, and that under your interpretation, we are leaving the decision up to hospital ethicists and hospital attorneys instead of medical providers, and that concerns me greatly,” Karofsky said.

Conservative Justice Brian Hagedorn disagreed, and says this is a matter for the legislature, not the Supreme Court.

“The judiciary doesn’t get to edit laws. The judiciary doesn’t get to rewrite them. We didn’t delete it. We prevented its enforcement,” Hagedorn said.

Hagedorn referring to the time when the US Supreme Court Roe v Wade decision made abortions constitutional. It’s expected that the liberal majority on the court will rule against the older law, but that could take some time before an opinion is handed down.

Teen kayaker drowns on Kirby Lake on Saturday

CUMBERLAND, Wis. (WJMC) — A Minnesota teen is dead after an apparent drowning on Kirby Lake, located northwest of Cumberland.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said rescuers were called out just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday, for people in the water yelling for help after their kayaks overturned. A 17-year-old male had not resurfaced.

Multiple agencies responded and using sonar, the victim was located and retrieved by the Chetek Fire Department Dive Team. Lifesaving measures were attempted and he was airlifted to a hospital in Minnesota.

Authorities in Hennepin County said the victim passed away on Sunday. His name was not released.

The incident was under investigation by the sheriff’s department and Wisconsin DNR.

Armstrong interview, does not want Medicaid expanded

RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — Dave Armstrong, of Rice Lake, the republican assembly representative for the 67th district, is seeking re-election to a third term.

We interviewed him this week, about his work in the legislature on housing and workforce issues, and on the economy and taxes, health care and reproductive rights and his goals for the next term. Armstrong said he was against expanding Medicare in the state.

“Because we are moving 80-90 thousand people from Obamacare to state healthcare. Eighty percent of people end up with $10 or less for monthly costs on that [Obamacare]. Alright, why would I move 80-90 thousand people–that 80 percent were paying 10 bucks a month, which is affordable it seems–to state funds? So no, I don’t think that is a going option,” Armstrong said.

“And even the healthcare providers say ‘God no, don’t do that. You’re going to bury us.’ Because again we go back to Medicaid reimbursing at 51 percent of costs.”

Walz promotes plan to address rural health care

Minnesota Governor and Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz is helping roll out a proposal designed to address rural healthcare shortages. He says it’s critical

“Folks think they know rural America, you’re hearing costs of things, you’re hearing lack of access to child care. You’re hearing the hospital and ambulance issues, and this addresses that. So I’m really proud of it,” Walz said.

The plan includes financial aid for medical students who commit to practicing in rural areas, Walz hopes it could lead to those professionals staying around past their mandatory commitment.
