RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — The area remains under a winter storm warning through this afternoon.
Last evening brought sleet, then around four inches of heavy snow with blowing winds. Around three additional inches of snow are expected today with gusts up to 45 miles per hour.
Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said the blowing winds will cause drifts across roads, even after they have been cleared by snowplows. There were three crashes this morning from the storm.
A number of schools are closed or have moved to virtual classes and some community organizations have canceled services for today. Click on the “closings” tab at the top of the page for the latest closings and cancellations.
