MADISON, Wis. (AP) — John Blackwell had 24 points and 10 rebounds as 11th-ranked Wisconsin bounced back from a disappointing defeat with an 88-62 victory over Washington. John Tonje added 13 points for the Badgers, who lost 77-73 to Oregon in overtime at home Saturday after leading by 15 with under eight minutes left. Steven Crowl and Xavier Amos had 12 points apiece for Wisconsin. Great Osobor scored 11 for Washington, which has lost three straight and 11 of 14.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Nick Martinelli scored 19 of his 29 points in the second half to help Northwestern pull away and beat Minnesota 75-63. The Wildcats had its largest lead at 64-47 with 7:05 left and led by double digits nearly the rest of the way. Martinelli, who leads the Big Ten averaging 19.7 points, was the only player in double figures for Northwestern (15-13, 6-11 Big Ten). The Wildcats, who beat Ohio State 70-49, have won consecutive games since ending a three-game losing streak. Dawson Garcia scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Minnesota (14-14, 6-11).
IN WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL
No. 2 UCLA visits the Wisconsin Badgers after Lauren Betts scored 22 points in the Bruins’ 67-65 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes. The teams square off Wednesday for the first time this season. Wisconsin is 4-12 against the Big Ten, and UCLA is 14-1 against conference opponents.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Simon Edvinsson pinged a slap shot off the far post for his second goal of the game with 8:25 remaining to finish a rally by the Detroit Red Wings for a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Cam Talbot made 22 saves for the Red Wings. Detroit is 9-1-2 in its last 12 games and has won a season-best five straight road games. Vladimir Tarasenko scored midway through the second period after Minnesota led 2-0 at the first intermission following goals by Marco Rossi and Jakob Lauko. Rossi matched his career high with 21 goals.
